Ironically, I discover some of my best horror story ideas while communing with nature. I am lucky to live in a state with over a hundred state and national parks including serene lakes, rushing waterfalls, extensive cave systems and lush green forests. The thought of being chased by a hairy monster through the woods or dragged underwater by a scaly beast isn't so bad. There are worse ways to go, after all.
